Our story

Our Story

DUPS welcomes Dhaka University students to join its exclusive membership, providing a platform to explore and share photographic talents. Through exhibitions, workshops, competitions and weekly photo walks, members not only hone their photography skills but also foster social connections.

With around 150 active members, our society convenes weekly at TSC, hosting members-only workshops and meetings at DUPS and other professional studios. Join us to discover hidden talents, share experiences, and contribute to a vibrant community passionate about photography and personal growth.

Our story began on August 29, 1999, with the founding of DUPS (Dhaka University Photographic Society). Our mission was simple: to kindle a passion for photography among the youth. What started as a small group of university students has blossomed into a renowned community attracting enthusiasts from all corners of Bangladesh.

Through exhibitions, contests and workshops, we continue to inspire and empower photographers on their creative journeys. From our humble beginnings, we've evolved into a vibrant hub where individuals can explore their artistic potential, share experiences and foster meaningful connections.
